Job Description
We have a new opportunity for a Lead AV Engineer. The main purpose of this position is to grow our clients in house engineering capability to serve both to our clients Project and Support requirements being responsible for installation and commissioning of bespoke AV projects across the UK and Global customer base.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIESCustomer Focus:
• Maintain a customer-driven focus while on site; dealing with a variety of queries. Must be always ready to help and seek a resolution to any and all customer issues, following up with relevant internal teams if answer is not immediately known.
• Be able to operate professionally at customer sites. Candidates must be confident enough to work under pressure whilst being diplomatic/customer focused enough to represent our client when in front of customers and stakeholders
Quality:
• Demonstrate absolute commitment to quality in every aspect of this role
• Ability to oversee/manage external engineers ensuring project is completed to our clients quality standards
• Conduct Quality Assurance checks for every installation carried out and ensuring any actions are completed
• Be intolerant of sub quality products or solutions and apply this behaviour to ensure continuous improvement in our clients delivery
Communication:
• Regular communication with the Project and Technical Operations team in relation to service-related incidents and project work.
• Attend all required meetings with the Project Managers and Service Desk Manager as required
• Communication of all escalations and queries to the Project Managers
• Contribute to the business and team growth, providing continuous improvement ideas and suggestions.
Stakeholder Management:
• Deliver consistent, professional service to all relevant stakeholders and customers
• Representation of our clients brand by adherence to the operating principles
• Ensure all deliverables and agreed actions are delivered on time to the relevant stakeholders to our clients standard
• Collate any relevant customer feedback in a professional manner and provide to the Service Manager, Ops Director or Leadership team as required
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Experience working on construction sites
• Ideally holding a CSCS card and have IPAF and PASMA accreditation
• Full clean driving license
• Rack building/pre-wire
• Build custom structure, framework and bracketry to hang AV equipment consistent with industry safety standards
• Installation of LED Screens, Video Walls and Flat Panel Displays, Projectors
• Installation of AV control systems
• Installation VC/UC systems into meeting room environments (Zoom, Polycom, Cisco)
• Experience of Bespoke/Split room installation & commissioning
• Full commissioning of AV systems with AMX/Crestron/BiAmp/Extron technology
• Experience of QA of installs.
• Install audio equipment including speakers, amps, mixers, microphones
• Ability to read, understand and follow build plans and schematics
• Conduct strong level of troubleshooting of all AV systems
• Structured cabling including pulling, terminating, soldering and testing all cable and wiring associated with audio/video cables
• Conduct terminations in accordance with system diagrams
• Ability to conduct and adhere to risk assessments and method statements
• Health and Safety Certified (ECS, SSSTS)
• Ability to conduct technical troubleshooting to a high level
• Willingness to travel
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
Accreditation with Cisco, AMX, Crestron would be welcomed but aren’t essential
